Australian Education Exhibition attracts good turnout

The 8th edition of the Australian Education Exhibition, which included 18 leading universities and colleges, held here yesterday saw a big turnout of students.

In an interview with the Observer, Dr Kylie Baxter, Australian Agency for Education & Training (AAET), said around half a million international students are currently studying in Australia.

Many of these international students are from Arab countries. Dr Baxter said, “Thousands of Omani students are studying in Australia”.

The participating Australian universities, including The University of Melbourne, Monash University, Bond University, Griffith University, The University of New South Wales, IES/The University of Queensland, The University of Western Australia, The University of Adelaide, Curtin University of Technology, Swinburne University of Technology, The University of Newcastle, University of Canberra, University of Southern Queensland, study Group, Browns English Language Institute, Victoria University, and UTS: In search interacted with the visiting students, answered their queries and provided promotional literature.

The exhibition showcased a wide array of courses, which are available in the Australian universities to Omani students. The 18 of Australia’s reputed universities that participated in the exhibition helped promote the advantages of education in Australia at this event.

The objective was to promote Australian education and bring to the region many of the top Australian universities so that the students and parents alike have an opportunity to interact with the Australian representatives.

The Gulf region has a great demand for higher education. Each year thousands of students from the Gulf region enroll in Australian universities.
